This is a loop trail that starts at Swan Reach at the Swan Reach/ Stockwell road intersection and passes through Yacto Creek. Complete the trail by returning to your launch site, either back along the creek or along the Murray River. A more ‘Adventurous option’ is also shown here and it involves 2 easy portages – however please note that waters can be shallow in places along this route.

Beginning at Castles Landing near Blanchetown, this loop trail passes through Moorundie and Portee Creeks with a number of portages along the way and returning to the launch site upstream directly along the Murray River.
If preferred, it is also possible to complete this trail starting and finishing at the Swan Reach end.

Starting from Clayton Bay Boat ramp, this loop trail takes paddlers along the Murray River to Boundary Creek, and then on to the Tauwitchery Barrage, before returning to launch point.

A loop trail starting at Wongulla boat ramp and passing through Wongulla lagoon and Manuka lagoon, then on to Walker Flat, returning to launch point. Alternatively this paddle can commence at Walker Flat and be completed in the opposite direction.

mcbeans pound trail northern loop

After setting off from McBeans Pound north of Blanchetown, this paddle trail goes through two lagoons – Irwin flat lagoon and Donald flat lagoon. There are low bridges at both ends of Irwin Flat lagoon which may not be easily traversed if the river level is raised. Return is via the Murray River.

Cumbunga Creek Loop Trail

The trail begins at Blanchetown and goes through Cumbunga Creek to roonka conservation park. For paddlers traversing this stunning lagoon and creek, a number of “canoe trees” can be seen and there is always an abundance of birdlife on the river and in these backwaters.
